It has been too long since my last post and now I can't even think of where to begin! So much has gone on and so much has happened that my brain is just too small to remember it all. This leads me to warn you that this post may be very long and all over the board and confusing as things pop in my mind and I type them out.
Let's start with my BYU-I trip with my girls Cynthia (bob) King and Jeanelle Shaw. We had so much fun on both the drive over there and the drive back that I just want to add a couple of quotes that make for interesting stories. The first one is said by the wonderful Shaw Shaw, "oh gee! Big bird in the street! Big bird in the street!!" Now this may not seem very funny in this context but if you know Shaw you know that her "oh gee!" is funny all by itself and when you add her freaking out about a bird it is quite entertaining! :)
The other quote, that I must say is probably the second best, is from Cyndy Bob. As she was trying to lay down to fall asleep she goes, "oh no! my seat belt locked and I am only half way rotated!! I'm stuck! I'm stuck!" She did not get along with the seat belts in Shaw's car at all! Cyndy if you are reading this you must remember to be smarter than the seat belts in the future!
The final quote that is my all time favorite, also said by Cyndy, was when we were headed home from Rexburg and we had just put on the movie 17 Miracles. Side note here, that movie is very good and if you have not seen it then you must. There are some parts that just give you the chills and it is very eary! But any who... the quote! So the beginning of the movie all you see is wolves running around and these men with guns in the woods and hilarious Cyndy goes, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize we put on Twilight!" hahahaha all time best thing ever!
Now onto the actual trip at BYU-I. It was awesome! I had such a great time, the people there were just so kind and the campus small but also big enough that you knew you were at college and not high school. And this may sound bad but Oh My! The boys there are so cute! But now after being there just for a weekend I can see myself spending a couple years there as I go through college. I can not wait until January and for all the adventures that I know I will have there. Although I must be honest, when I first woke up on Friday I felt so out of place and like I was an intruder in these other peoples lives. It was really awkward being in my friend's apartment with these other room mates that I did not even know. So I want to thank Emily and Sarah for letting me stay there and making me feel better after Friday.
Ok so enough about Idaho now because most of the other stuff was lots of fun but I feel like I could go on for an hour alone on it.
Now I have talked to most people about this already, but for those of you who read my blog that I have not told yet here is the scoop on my job situation. The nannying job that I was soo looking forward to has quite a story. I go to start my first day on Monday and no one answers the door! So I try calling her and she doesn't answer the phone, but five minutes later I get a text from her saying "Sorry in a meeting until 2pm I hope you got my emails." Now let me remind you, I am just getting back from Idaho and I am not the type of person to stop having fun to check my email. So as I am still on her front porch I check my email and there they are! Two emails from this woman saying, "oh I am worried about losing my job and so I don't want to spend money on child care for my daughter and my mother in law is just going to watch my daughter."
I want you all to know that after going through a mess with a car situation and driving over to her house this was not the news that I wanted and it did not make me happy! So I drive home feeling like crap because I quit my job at Payless so quickly and let other people down for babysitting because I had all these days blocked off for nannying and now I have no job at all! Trying not to sit in a ball and cry I just relax on the couch and think about my options. That is when I remember that one of my old teachers, Mr. Theriot, had called me when I was on my way to Idaho and asked if I or anyone I knew would be up for a part time job watching his daughter. So that Monday I automatically sent him a text asking if he had found anyone and he hadn't! So he called me back and now I am watching his beautiful 8 month old daughter.
So all in all, I love what has been happening in my life lately. I am always on the go and trying something new. To quit my job and not have much going for me and now I am doing something I love all the time is fabulous. And as I always joke, now I don't have a dress code! I can wear whatever I want to work and I don't have to be serious! I can have fun and play all day! I have made my lemons into something so sweet and tasty that I just can not stop eating it. ( It must be my Lemon Bars ;) )
That's all for now but I am sure there is much more to come with all that you can do with the lemons life gives you!
Okay, seriously? This made me laugh SO much. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. I loved getting four days of fun with you. xoxo
