Too much and too small,

It has been too long since my last post and now I can't even think of where to begin! So much has gone on and so much has happened that my brain is just too small to remember it all. This leads me to warn you that this post may be very long and all over the board and confusing as things pop in my mind and I type them out.

Let's start with my BYU-I trip with my girls Cynthia (bob) King and Jeanelle Shaw. We had so much fun on both the drive over there and the drive back that I just want to add a couple of quotes that make for interesting stories. The  first one is said by the wonderful Shaw Shaw, "oh gee! Big bird in the street! Big bird in the street!!" Now this may not seem very funny in this context but if you know Shaw you know that her "oh gee!" is funny all by itself and when you add her freaking out about a bird it is quite entertaining! :)

The other quote, that I must say is probably the second best, is from Cyndy Bob. As she was trying to lay down to fall asleep she goes, "oh no! my seat belt locked and I am only half way rotated!! I'm stuck! I'm stuck!" She did not get along with the seat belts in Shaw's car at all! Cyndy if you are reading this you must remember to be smarter thathe seat belts in the future!

The final quote that is my all time favorite, also said by Cyndy, was when we were headed home from Rexburg and we had just put on the movie 17 Miracles. Side note here, that movie is very good and if you have not seen it then you must. There are some parts that just give you the chills and it is very eary! But any who... the quote! So the beginning of the movie all you see is wolves running around and these men with guns in the woods and hilarious Cyndy goes, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize we put on Twilight!" hahahaha all time best thing ever!

Now onto the actual trip at BYU-I. It was awesome! I had such a great time, the people there were just so kind and the campus small but also big enough that you knew you were at college and not high school. And this may sound bad but Oh My! The boys there are so cute! But now after being there just for a weekend I can see myself spending a couple years there as I go through college. I can not wait until January and for all the adventures that I know I will have there. Although I must be honest, when I first woke up on Friday I felt so out of place and like I was an intruder in these other peoples lives. It was really awkward being in my friend's apartment with these other room mates that I did not even know. So I want to thank Emily and Sarah for letting me stay there and making me feel better after Friday.

Ok so enough about Idaho now because most of the other stuff was lots of fun but I feel like I could go on for an hour alone on it.

Now I have talked to most people about this already, but for those of you who read my blog that I have not told yet here is the scoop on my job situation. The nannying job that I was soo looking forward to has quite a story. I go to start my first day on Monday and  no one answers the door! So I try calling her and she doesn't answer the phone, but five minutes later I get a text from her saying "Sorry in a meeting until 2pm I hope you got my emails." Now let me remind you, I am just getting back from Idaho and I am not the type of person to stop having fun to check my email. So as I am still on her front porch I check my email and there they are! Two emails from this woman saying, "oh I am worried about losing my job and so I don't want to spend money on child care for my daughter and my mother in law is just going to watch my daughter."

I want you all to know that after going through a mess with a car situation and driving over to her house this was not the news that I wanted and it did not make me happy! So I drive home feeling like crap because I quit my job at Payless so quickly and let other people down for babysitting because I had all these days blocked off for nannying and now I have no job at all! Trying not to sit in a ball and cry I just relax on the couch and think about my options. That is when I remember that one of my old teachers, Mr. Theriot, had called me when I was on my way to Idaho and asked if I or anyone I knew would be up for a part time job watching his daughter. So that Monday I automatically sent him a text asking if he had found anyone and he hadn't! So he called me back and now I am watching his beautiful 8 month old daughter.

So all in all, I love what has been happening in my life lately. I am always on the go and trying something new. To quit my job and not have much going for me and now I am doing something I love all the time is fabulous. And as I always joke, now I don't have a dress code! I can wear whatever I want to work and I don't have to be serious! I can have fun and play all day! I have made my lemons into something so sweet and tasty that I just can not stop eating it. ( It must be my Lemon Bars ;) )

That's all for now but I am sure there is much more to come with all that you can do with the lemons life gives you!

In the wound...

Today was a very hard and long day. I needed sleep badly last night and of course because I needed it I didn't get any. So then I started off my day babysitting one of my favoritest kids, Wesley. We had fun playing and eating lunch then I dropped him off at daycare.
Then things went from okay to horrible. I went into work to find out that we had 101 cases today! So I got started but even though I worked hard it felt like nothing was being accomplished. And even after 8 hours of working on it I only got one jumbo cart done. But I would have rather not slept at all last night and worked at Payless all day instead of working with, lets call her, X.
X is horrible, she is one of the reasons why I hate working for Payless so much now. All she did today was defy me and interupt my boss's meeting to check with him before she did anything. Even when all I did was ask her to flip the store she replied with "well I don't want to do anything unless Patrick tells me to so I'm gunna go check with him." I just couldn't believe my ears, I worked so hard at that job to get no respect back, or to be appreciated for my knowledge. She has only been working there for 2 months, how does she think that I don't know what I am doing and she does!
I think what was worst though is that when I told one of my other associates that she should go help clean the cart X was working on she did right away without question. But then when she started X got mad and told her that she should find something else to do because she was working on it. When the other associate replied that Nikki had told her to work on that so she could focus on the customers X replies with well Nikki isn't in charge, I'm gunna go talk to Patrick about this.
I know that I should let things slide by and not bother me but it is so hard when its all negative. I am so glad that I am no longer responsible for anything at that store and that I only have 4 hours of working left.
Today just felt like lemon juice poured on a papercut. I am so glad that it is over and that I can start fresh tomorrow. Hopefully my wound will heal overnight and I can go back to eating my lemons pain free.

The Bittersweet Taste...

Well I didn't have time to write down anything yesterday because it was packed with everything! My day started out by getting ready to go to an interview for a nanny job in Renton. I was supposed to meet them at 11 to get to know each other and what we were looking for. But she called me at 10 asking me to meet her early so I had to rush and get ready but I did it and even got there before them! So proud of myself for being time efficient!

So all that aside, for those of you who I have not told. They loved me! And hopefully as long as the process goes as they were saying, I will be a nanny for an adorable little girl! Plus I have quite the set up with them, they are so nice and super chill about me doing arts and crafts, taking her to the park, playing chalk all types of stuff. I can't wait to get out of Payless and to actually be active and not just stand around in a small store all day with angry people. I get to play and entertain and be entertained by a rambunctious child!

Then I actually had to go do exactly what I just explained as horrible. Going to Payless for 8.5 hours while helping angry people who yell at you about prices of shoes and demanding help. But yesterday was better than a normal day because I quit!! Unfortunately for the store Michael also gave his notice yesterday but I won't have to worry about that stuff anymore. I am onto bigger and better things.

To finish my day off I hung out with my girls for the last time before they left to college today. We just went on a simple drive like always and talked. It was nice to do something so simple to say our goodbyes.

The only thing that wasn't to great was that Bridget Wilson was not able to come with us! Thankfully, my college friends are brilliant and told her we would just go to her instead! Turned out to be a great time full of laughs.

Overall it was a bittersweet day like the taste of my homemade lemonade that makes my lips pucker. But after the first sip you know that you still have a full cup of the wonderful taste.

More than just a visit to the zoo...

So today's adventures started with a fabulous mani and pedi with my girls, well half of them. It was really nice to go relax for a couple of hours and laugh about random stuff. By the way, my toenails are extremely bright and fun, and my nails are a great blue with white flower design on the ring finger. Totally my style! lol

After getting my nails done I headed off to the zoo with my best friend Zeinab and her family. I was super excited to go off and have fun with kids and just relax. In reality it was not so easy! First of all we got lost so many times trying to find the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. I have not been there in forever and last time I went I did not care to pay attention how to get there. But on top of that the dang GPS was always leading us the wrong way and recalculating! Once we finally got to the zoo, an hour later, we headed in and started having fun. But what I was not really expecting was that the kids kept on yelling and screaming NIKKI! NIKKI! at everything they went too! lol Even in the car ride there and back they had to tell me everything they saw and if I did not reply they wouldn't stop. All that aside the zoo was pretty enjoyable, although Zeinab got very grouchy when she got hungry... sorry to tell the world Zeinab. haha.

The worst part of the day had to be on the way home, everything was going all good, until... That's right Maysaa's car is messed up and had something wrong with the transmission. It was doing pretty good all the way there and back but of course when we hit the middle of the hill on 208th the dang car decides no more going!! Thankfully we were just at the first light and we were able to turn into the little neighborhood and we got to Zeinab's house safely. And I'm sorry to say it but after all that, I just wanted to get my butt home! And that is exactly what I did!

So I went home had a wonderful dinner with the family and then out to pie at Sherri's with all my girls! Had such a great adventure with them and found out that Emily and Sarah both took the time to read my blog and quite enjoyed what I now have decided is my signature line. So Emily and Sarah here is a shout out to you guys and have a great time off at college! I know you will do great.

SO even though I had lots of sour lemons today I sucked them all up and then ate some sweet sour cream lemon pie to top off my day!
Till next time!

A New Beginning

A lot of changes have been happening lately and its exciting, fun, hard, and all around different. Although I should be used to different by now, seeing as at no point has my life been normal! (lol) But anyways, getting accepted to college, most of my friends heading off to college or already there, getting to know new people in the church and quitting my job is just like a whirlwind of crazy. Although crazy has never been so much fun in my life!! It seems like I am always heading off somewhere, just getting there or already there! And honestly I am loving it! I want it to be like this for a long time, and hopefully I will soon learn that this is what it is like at college.

So many things are left up in the air though... when I am going to college, where I am going to get the money to pay for college, and where I am going to work after the 19th! But in good time all my questions will be answered. I know that there is a larger plan for me and that even though I may not know now doesn't make things bad. It only makes things interesting to be honest! Who really wants to know everything while its happening or what will happen next? Life is not meant to be predictable, life if meant to be lived! To challenge yourself, your family, your friends and all those people you may or may not meet.

After all, when life gives you lemons just suck them up and move onto the next fruit! There is so much to be enjoyed!
